early, early this morning the sunrise was so breathtaking, my camera captured about 1/10th of it’s beauty

Thy power throughout the universe displayed…

then sings my soul….

How Great Thou Art!

Sunday Inspiration

The lyrics of this song give a Hope that brings refreshment!

What if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

Sunday Inspiration

I taught our Kid’s Church today.

We talked about how wide, long, high and how deep God’s love is.

It’s immeasurable!

Each child {4} did the, “Oh, oh, oh…” with raised hands asking to recite John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave His only son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life!

God’s love is so grand and immeasurable!

yet, with the faith of a child we can have it…all of it ~ it’s so refreshing when you look into the eyes of these children and know that they ‘get it’

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. …Ephesians 3:18

a moment!

As I was photographing some charms recently I paused:   moved this charm and that charm…turned another one around and…

I had a moment

As I looked at those charms I thought about how each one was related to each other.  Not by blood but by time, history, life, connection…

As I was growing up, my dad pastored that little white church.  Each one pictured {and so many more} was somehow touched by that church and the interaction of lifelife through God and a deep connection that goes back so many years.

I love being involved in that little white church on the hill again that holds so much love, life and history.

Sunday notes…

My 11th block for my 1″ Life Sampler…2009 is the year our son, Andrew brought a sweet girl, Jacklyn, to join our family…forever!

This block, my 12th…well, I suppose it speaks for itself!

Do you go to church on Sundays?

Do you take notes?

Do you doodle with your notes?

I will answer ‘YES’ to each one of those questions.

Even though Mr T. was very sick this morning, he delivered a great sermon.

One of the hi-lights for me was hearing this verse:

Proverbs 11:25 …he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed

I love my pastor!

Sunday Inspiration!

the Lion Chaser’s Manifesto by Mark Batterson

Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Consider the lilies. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshipping what’s right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don’t try to be who you’re not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away. Chase the lion!

Happy Mother’s Day!

This will be my 23rd Mother’s Day…because I absolutely celebrated that 1st one when he was growing inside of me.

God has blessed me so much with a wonderful Mother, Mother-In-Law and amazing Grandmothers…not to mention the three wonderful children that I gave birth to…and the dear one that we have added this year (officially in August).

Happy 21st Birthday to my dear Lauren…

dear LaurenShe liked the burlap bag I made this week so I made her one.  We were all together yesterday (my best Mom’s Day gift) celebrating our son’s college graduation so I was able to give it to her.

It only made sense that I make one of these for her, because…

Sunday Inspiration!

purityI recently took this picture of the snow just above my house.  At that time I thought, “How pure and untouched”.

In my own life, how I long to be so pure, and untouched by this world.  It has so much to offer, so much of it, often the parts that appear the most appealing, threatens to snip away at that purity until there remains  the potential of an open, weeping wound.  Sounds a bit dramatic, but so easily attainable with so little effort.  Really, it’s the effect of sin on our lives.  I have choices to make each and every day.

“Lord, I give this day to You!  Make my heart white as snow with Your cleansing power”.
