I’m smitten…

I feel as though I’ve been hit with cupid’s arrow of goat-love.

My brother, Marcus and I have been talking about getting milk goats.  We have a neighbor who had two does that gave birth to twins and triplets last Thursday…that’s 5 little kids!

On Saturday we took his girls over so they could see the babies and we could ask some questions.

It was such a fun experience…I think that Auntie liked the visit even more than the girls.  I haven’t been able to get these babies off my mind.

Maybe I can bring a couple of them home when they are ready….just maybe!

There were also baby bunnies…

Oh, My!!!   Pure, soft sweetness!

Meet Hope!

Next year she’ll be grown-up enough to have her own babies!

thx. Marc for sharing some of your pictures

especially for you, Mom

Mr T designed this thoughtful charm for his Mom for her birthday this week.

When he was a little boy his mom had spent a great deal of time prepping for and applying floor wax.  Before she was done with the ‘job’ she ran out of the wax.  When little Mr T walked in her frustration softened and she said, ‘I wouldn’t trade you for a can of wax!’   That’s been their ‘little thing’ over the years.

I’m pretty sure that she’ll smile when she gets this in the mail.

many of us have no idea the work involved in waxing the old floors…they would first have to be perfectly cleaned, stripped of the old wax and then have the new wax freshly applied ~ oh, such sweetness when the project was complete   ~   I love clean, fresh floors, especially when they shine!

Valentines, glitter, sprinkles and girls…

Three years ago I started doing a Valentine Tea Party for my nieces and a few of their friends.

They {Katie and Abbie} are considerably younger than my other nieces and nephew as well as my own kids so it’s fun for me to be able to do special things for them.  It also helps {immensely} that we live in the same area.

I had hoped that it wouldn’t be a one-time event…and it hasn’t.  They were 4 and 6 then and now they are 6 and 8.  We’ve had the same group of girls each year and this year we added two more.

We had a splendid little tea party.  As the girls get older they actually now drink their tea and with less sugar…although they use plenty of that.

I tried, for the first time, a little fondue bar with mini cupcakes, a dipping sauce and LOTS of sprinkle options.  It was a grand addition to the other assortments of sweets and goodies which included heart-shaped pizza.

They really liked the sprinkles…

We made a little crafty banner with each girl’s initial on it.

This was more an experiment but it is very cute.  I  took a picture of them, added the words and the sucker ring.  The ring is a little overpowering but they couldn’t wait to get home and give this Valentine to themselves. there is something about sucker rings and little girls…they just love them!

I really made out with a lovely assortment of homemade Valentines.

I made these hats last month for me and them…I got to use them as decoration for the past month and they got to take one home.  Too much fun…they really loved them!

It just wouldn’t be complete without the silly picture…

:so{very}lucky in love:

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could know that everyone was loved♥.

I literally feel enough love♥ in my life that it makes me want to share…maybe that is one of the key ingredients that does help us reach out to others…impact the lives of other people in a positive way…share ourselves with others.

I appreciate every bit of love♥ and support that I receive from others.

our parents

our kids

our family members

our friends

i say ‘our’ because when i said “i do”, his became mine

…and when I said “i do” I didn’t really know what I was agreeing to {exactly} I just knew that I was willing to ‘do’ what I needed to ‘do’ to make this work…till death do us part.  We’ve been ‘doing’ for almost 28 years and the journey keeps getting sweeter…it’s never been perfect but always good and right .

Yes, I am {so very} lucky in love♥…let me count the ways:

1)  when we were dating Mr T. would write me poems on parchment paper and burn the edges

2) he has always loved♥ buying me jewelry {nice jewelry}

3) he loves♥ to take me on vacation {especially cruises…we don’t go often but it’s very special when we do}

4)  he puts silly thoughts into songs

5)  he lets me have girl parties and he even helps me get ready for them

6)  he takes being ‘the provider’ very seriously and does it very well

7)  he makes sure that we are warm by getting wood and keeping the fire{s} going {no small task}

8)  he lets me watch Hallmark movies and will even watch them with me

9) he often gives me the remote control when we watch TV in the evenings {this is BIG}

10) he lets me dream

and he just plain loves♥ me on the good days and the bad days!

I love♥ him too!

We’ve actually become quite boring and we really like it that way!  😉

My favorite work of ART!

Memories of Love

I’ve had this idea rolling around for a couple of weeks…to make a heart out of pictures of couples.

My first thought was to use all vintage pictures…both relatives and unknowns.  I quickly switched to ‘knowns’.  I love anything that celebrates love and marriage and COMMITMENT!  I am blessed that I have had that word ‘commitment‘ modeled within my family.

Each couple represented {all related except for one} has an understanding of what that word really means.

I was hoping to include more pictures of my ‘greats’ and some more of Mr T’s family but I knew if I didn’t just work with what I had it wouldn’t get done.  It was a bit of work as it is.

I had an old window that I wanted to put them behind {thus the difficulty with photographing} so I worked with that measurement and came up with a size {2.188 x 3.5} that each picture needed to be.  It took 52 pictures. I cheated a little and used vintage Valentines for two spots.

I love going through our old photos.  I have this chronic smile on my face as I slip through each memory.  This is the ‘earliest’ photo I have of Mr T and I.

We were sitting on a dock on Lake Washington which overlooked Seattle.

i still have that sweatshirt

Little Junior!

I’ve been gone for several days, taking care of  ‘things’ over in the Seattle area.

thx. MissA for being the perfect hostess and friend

This time of year the climate differences are so noticeable.  It’s 10° here right now yet over there the Magnolia trees are beginning to bud and it’s so warm {& rainy}.

I love it when I can stop in and visit with our son and his wife.  They live w/in a couple of hours of HOME so it makes for a nice little break…coming and going!  When I stopped in there they said they were wondering if I would want to spend the night so I could go to their ultrasound with them the next day?

What’s a mom to say?

I told Andrew he needed to call his dad and ask if “Mommy could spend the night?” 😉

Anyway…I did stay and I was able to watch their ultrasound…fascinating.  That little foot is just over 2″ long and I think the tech said the baby was about 1 lb. 10 oz.

Such a miracle!

Before we know it, Little Junior will be wearing his shoes that I bought him for Christmas.

Christmas Eve:~

Today is a quiet day in our home.  Our kids will start arriving tomorrow night and Sunday night which makes Christmas Day a little sad but knowing that they will all be home at the same time truly makes this mom’s heart happy!

Tomorrow will be filled with gaiety as most of my family will be here to celebrate.

In this picture our tree may look like a 16′ Charlie Brown Christmas tree but it is far more beautiful than the picture shows {especially at night time}.

I made this ornament for our kids to commemorate this special year with the wee~one growing {daily} …to make his debut in May!

May the Blessing that God sent to Earth touch your heart and your home.
