Art Retreat #1
βσhσ Art Retreat 2010
Retreat Dates: October 21-23, 2010 ~ Thursday-Saturday
schedule:
◊Thursday◊
arrival will begin around 10:00 with lunch being the 1st on ‘the agenda’
◊Friday◊
a full day of fun, workshops, glorious food and more {hopefully we can squeeze in a bit of sunshine and laughter!}
◊Saturday◊
will end in the afternoon… 😦
workshops:
#1• Handmade {my word of honor} Journal
made by you and for you
We will use a variety of vintage papers to make this journal ‘ you’ and the finishing touch will be a sprinkling of glitter and a favorite picture of…none other than…YOU!
#2• Your glittery crown of glory!
The base of this crown is rusty {genuine vintage} chicken wire. From there it will be embellished until your glorious heart is content {the warm and fuzzy kind!}.
This will be taught by the fabulous designer/artist team of All That Glitter ~ Becky & Holly
#3• Custom Soldered Charm
We will spend an adequate amount of time learning some basic soldering skills so that you will feel confident to make a custom soldered charm just for…you guessed it…YOU!
#4• Three Wishes: decorated vintage bottle
Using a vintage bottle with fun characteristics, you will have an opportunity to watch, with your own eyes…using your own hands, it’s personal transformation as it is re-created into a glamorous decanter that will be used to serve pearls of wisdom and encouragement…for, {uh huh} YOU!
Another wonderful creation that will be taught by Holly & Becky of All That Glitter!
#5• Barnboard Frame with soldered collage
During this last year we have had a few barns come down in our community that were 100+ years old. Being the scrounge that I am, I never hesitate to ask for the burn pile {often getting much better}. In this workshop you will begin with the frame and embellish it however you want. You will also work on a collage with any theme of your choosing. It will be put behind glass and, as you use your new-found soldering skills, you will encase it with a soldered edge.

Here are some links to posts where I’ve hi-lighted some pictures of our place...

The retreat accommodations will be in the two cabins pictured. I will try to keep each cabin to no more than 4-5 gals. I don’t promise luxurious, private rooms for each person but I can guarantee a lovely, warm environment with sparkly, clean indoor plumbing! {actually, they are quite nice!}
dining:
I’m confident that all of our dining will be magnificent! Feeding people is one of my very favorite things to do. I will definitely have someone helping me with that but I guarantee you that my hands won’t be far from the kitchen.
If you have specific needs when it comes to the food that you eat, please let me know that when you register.
list of supplies:
Most of what we are working with will be provided for you but when you register you will be provided with your own list of suggested supplies.
registration:
The cost for this retreat is $280. This includes meals, lodging, workshops and many of the supplies for the workshops. A $100 deposit will save you a spot. I would love to have the full amount {$280} two weeks prior to the event.
