Baby LOVE!

I had a wonderful weekend as I traveled to our beautiful Skagit County with my dear daughter-in-law, Jackie, for two baby showers with her family and friends.

This girl is such a blessing, in so many ways.

…and she was blessed beyond words with an amazing assortment and quantity of gifts.  Her heart was overflowing with deep appreciation with each and every gift.  {so fun to watch}

Jackie and her sweet Mom!

My three girls!  {love ’em all so very much}

My daughter, Lauren, made this quilt for her new nephew… {wow!  she did an amazing job ~ she even hand-quilted it!}

Jackie’s grandma gave her this quilt which was made by her mother-in-law…which would be Jackie’s great grandma.  She has had this tucked away for her first great-grand child.

Baby LOVE!

we have about 5 weeks to go {give or take a week or two…}  🙂

  1. What a lovely thing to do, theese babyshowers. We don´t have them here in Sweden as a tradtion. We celebrate the baby and the family after the birth instead. But I actually think it is nice tradtion you have!!!

    Best regards

    PS. I´ve just bought a soldering kit from Stampington & Co and I can´t wait for it to arrive. I have never soldered before, so I have to prepare myself and read about it before I start 🙂
    You have inspired me to try it!!

    • It is nice and such a sweet gesture for friends and family to want to support the family in this way. It used to be more common to have a shower after the baby comes but now that couples generally find out the sex of the baby it’s more common to have showers before it is born so the mom can feel more prepared. She actually still has one to look forward to that will take place after the little guy comes. They are a very blessed young couple!

  2. She is so tiny and cute, she doesn’t look anywhere near 8 months pregnant! Those quilts are so special, both the new made with love one, and the old passed on family quilt, so fun.
    You are going to be a fabulous grandma Elaine 🙂

    p.s. Susanne- baby showers in the U.S. can happen after the birth too, which is always fun because you get to pass the baby around!
