The Happiest Place…

I woke up a few days ago in the happiest place on earth {so they say…I say it’s a wonderfully exhausting place…but that doesn’t make a very compelling tag line}

I was able to come with my daughter, Lauren and our friend Becky.  I’ll have to post more later.  Although I paid for a day’s worth of internet just so I could talk to you, writing a post on a computer other than my own just doesn’t work for me {apparently}.

..gotta love those shoes! {his not mine…he gets to dress for cuteness and I definitely have to dress for comfort while I’m here}

It seems that it is often in the simplest of things that I smile the most…

Being with my family and watching them interact rates amongst my most favorite things…

Picking apples off of my tree and eating hot, steamy apple pie {a la mode} a couple of hours later is another.

…digging potatoes and slicing them up….Oh, My!…slicing a small, fresh potato is like slicing butter…

…sweet-talking my chickens…telling them how nice they are to give me…

…fresh eggs ~ every single day!

…gathering plums and eating them right then and there or putting them in the dehydrator and eating them like candy…YUM!

Sour Plum Jam – recipe from THIS POST

Enjoy this day to it’s fullest…some days we need to look for the tiniest, simplest things that bring joy, grab a hold of all you can

…and smile!  🙂

cause for celebration…

Congratulations, Lori – You’re the winner of the Custom Charm Give-a-Way!  Here is Lori’s comment…

Elaine….I would LOVE a custom charm! My Dad passed away 5 years ago and I miss him so much. I would love to wear a charm with his picture around my neck. People could ask me who it was and I could talk about my Dad daily and tell wonderful stories about him. This would be so wonderful. I would LOVE to Win…..

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I’ve decided to add one of these bars of soap to the give-a-way.  They are made by Shari Thompson-Brown.   I have done a few shows with Shari and really, really love her soap.

For my Art Retreats I love to give one of her small bars  to each gal with her set of towels.  Because my next one is in October, I’ve ordered some of the ‘pink ribbon‘ soaps for it.

I’m going to {side-step} here and show you my new dress:

Oh, My!…let’s celebrate LIFE!

Vintage Flea Market

It was such a beautiful afternoon yesterday to head out for the Big City, meet up with my sister and go to Five Mile Rd. & Strong .

There I found the Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market

…and the ever-so-beautiful Mother/Daughter team that put this event together…Gladys & Celia.

One of the visuals that I enjoyed was this beautiful display of hand made soap.

The vendors joyfully dress to fit the theme…they all looked great…

…especially these dear girls, Holly & Becky of All That Glitter.

I’m so anxious to have them return to teach at my next Art Retreat {Oct.21-23}…they know how to put just the right touch on EVERYTHING!   I would love to have two more gals join in….There is room for YOU!

If you haven’t signed up yet for my give-a-way…do so now by going HERE.
