Reasons for Rembering…

I’m so proud of my girl.  Last night she graduated from a 2-year School of Ministry.

This is the best picture I have {so far} of the evening.  {I’m NOT blaming Amber for that..although I DID offer her my camera…thx. Miss A for sharing this evening with us}

I love this picture because it shows Tyrone pouring words of life and sweetness directly into my girl.  It was a touching moment.

Such a girl of true beauty ~ inside and out!!!

Memorial Day

…such a sweet thought…

I love remembering those who have gone before us.

…those who have laid so many foundations for me to have a better life…

Last year I was able to visit and remember those who truly are foundational to my personal life.

This year I happen to be staying with a {dearest} friend who just happens to take her daily walk in her back yard…the cemetery.

It really is a lovely place to walk…and remember!

It’s in the {extra} touch

I {generally} love everything that I do/make/create…

…but I find that {often} my favorite part lies in the added extras…

…the scintillating embellishments

…the brilliant adornments

…the fun touch of artistry that may catch you by surprise…

Honestly, it’s the area that I struggle with the most as I get ready for a show.  These sweet touches fight for my already consumed time!

But {FIGHT} I will!

p.s. I got the laundry done

???

Mr T.  is listening to music on his laptop and I’m pretty sure that he turned it up when this song came on…

“A Man Needs A Maid” …by Neil Young

My life is changing
in so many ways
I don’t know who
to trust anymore
There’s a shadow running
thru my days
Like a beggar going
from door to door.

I was thinking that
maybe I’d get a maid
Find a place nearby
for her to stay.
Just someone
to keep my house clean,
Fix my meals and go away.

A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.

Mmmmm…

Well, since this is his current ‘view’ then I guess the poor guy isn’t too far off track…

This {wo}man surely needs a maid!

i will say that at least most of our clothes are clean

Oh, Rubbish!

Have you heard of A Girl Named Timi?

She is the queen of  {junk} networking.  Last year she began a business {Come Junk With Us}  where she charters a bus and fills it with junking women destined for a day of junking, eating, talking, junking, giggling, junking….

Get the idea?

In this part of the world there is a definite Junk Revolution.  …large groups of crazed women going here and there in search of the perfect find.

Timi’s next Crazed Women Come Junk With Us bus ride is headed from the Seattle area to Spokane for the Farm Chicks Show.  During the ride the gals are showered with gifts.  They are treated like Junk Queens for two days.  I will be sending one of my Farmgirl Style Market Shoppers for her to give away and each gal will also receive a coupon to come by my booth and pick up a free Oh, Rubbish! charm.

Custom Charms…

I know…I’ve been quiet here.  There are weeks when I just don’t have much to say or show.  This is one of those.

I’ll be back soon though…I promise!!!!

Tree Down

We had some pretty impressive wind-gusts go through here last night.

There were at least two that make me wince/cringe/cower/quiver/tremble…you get the idea.

Our house is surround by treesbig trees.

Our house is constructed with treesbig trees.

As it was creaking I would look up at the open-beam construction and I just knew that it wouldn’t fail me if one of those big, beautiful trees decided to come down on top of it.

We did have one go down in the yard but luckily it couldn’t have landed in a better place.

Whew!

vintage grain sacks

Recently at a garage sale I ‘scored’ by finding a stack of unused grain sacks ranging in size from small to tiny.

The man I bought them from, who was an ‘older’ gentleman, said they had been in his grandfather’s basement.

They are so old and perfectly preserved.

I can’t bear the idea of cutting these up so I will try to sew them into things, keeping them intact as I go!

I made the one hand bag, using one of the grain sacks as the front pocket.  I like it well enough that I’m hoping to get some more made.

wish me luck on that one

I {heart} rural living!

photo taken by Tres Birds Photography

It is very freeing that in my little town {about 15 miles away ~ population 2300. yee~haw!} I only have one grocery store to choose from.  Right across the street is the pharmacy…down a couple of blocks the bank.  Around the corner and down a block, the post office and down the street the hardware store.

the view from a hammock...

I rarely am overwhelmed by too many options or too much traffic.

another view from the hammock

Each day when I look outside at the beauty that surrounds me, my heart literally takes a leap and I can’t believe how lucky/blessed I am.

our water source...

I have spent most of my life in and around the city which offers an abundance of….abundance.

But, never again is it for ME!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

…off the press!

Read all about it…

It seems that right now I am waking, eating, sleeping, dreaming, etc….getting ready for The Farm Chicks Show.  Because it is the first show of the season for me, it’s what gives me the kick-start that I need. It gave me another ‘kick’ to get this poster as an e-mail this morning from Serena.  And it’s such a perfect way to share it with you.

This is a fun and amazing show to attend.

Don’t come alone though ~ grab a girlfriend or…ten.

Here is a picture from my first time to the show…wow! I had a nice little tan going on…oh, ya…I had just returned from a cruise in the sunshine for my 25th anniversary ~   (sigh) {I guess it’s time to celebrate #27}

Will I be seeing YOU at The Farm Chicks Show this year????
