creating with spirit & enthusiasm…often with great results

spring planting…

Today I planted some sunflower seeds in egg shells.

Watching a seed germinate is on of my favorite things…I get to watch these in my kitchen window.

  1. WAAAAAAAAAAAAY cool idea Elaine! Once they’re ready for the ground, do you plant the egg shell as well??

    • yep! You can just slightly crack the egg and the membrane will still hold it together to get it in the ground. Because it takes the ground a lot longer to warm up here, I may even have to put them in a little pot before I put them in the ground but it will be fun to watch them. I’m hoping that by Easter they’ll be little cuties. I will probably put some grass seed in some too! Oh, and another thing, I was planning to try (but I broke my white eggs) coloring some raw eggs to add some fun, bright colors. Since I have the fresh eggs I will just enjoy those organic, natural colors! >
