Swappy Ladies Spring Gift Exchange

Spring Gift Exchange

Yesterday was the date for the Swappy Ladies to mail their gifts. I think there was a lot of excitement in the air circling between the four states which these gals call home. My gal was Sarah and because I was driving near her house I just dropped it off. Unfortunately, she was very sick so I literally just had to leave it. Here are my show and tell pics. :-}

This is my homemade gift. I did two charms for her. This is one side. The little girl pic is her. The other one is a charm I made for the Vintage Barn Sale and since she is going to be a participant this year I added that one.

…and then the other side… Her charm has a wedding picture of her parents on the other side.

For the Spring gift I chose geranium scented Mrs. Meyers Countertop Spray. My sweetness of a friend turned me on to this last spring and it really brought the spring right into my house.

And last but not least, for my thrifted/2nd hand gift I bought Sarah a very cool children’s western belt. Wow, wasn’t that nice? Well, I cheated a little on this gift. I fashioned a bag using the belt. A little bird told me that Sarah likes the western theme so I used the belt to make a collage purse.

I have so much fun doing this. The last one I participated in, I got my fun stuff all sent off and I never, never heard from the gal (except to make sure that I had her address). Ya know, it was OK. I just asked the Lord to bless her at Christmas time and felt that she may have been going through some tremendous hardship. As I was writing this blog I kept thinking of the verse Acts 20:35 where Paul reminds us of Jesus’ words, “It is more blessed to give than receive”. We throw this verse around a lot here and there, but it’s really true. The blessing comes with getting this special gift to its recipient and then I remember, “Oh ya, I am going to get one too”…YAY! ;-0 …and when I do, there will be pictures to post. Hooray! Happy Spring. I might just have to add here a picture of our Happy Spring, April Fool’s kind of day.

and I must end with one visual sign of Spring! Luckily, they are under the eaves and therefore protected.

Happy, happy Spring to all of my friends in Blogland!
